Gold Star Day

Day 9: Sunday, June 5, 2011
Gold Star Day

The drive between Lexington, KY and Indianapolis took us through Cincinnati - and Mark decided we must have Chili Dogs. Having a franchise of the famous Skyline Chili already in Naples, we had to try it's counterpart, Gold Star Chili.

And, no… we don’t know what a “crate” is or why it would be $13.99?

No wonder this place is so popular!

We continued to have a smashingly good time as the “roads” of Indiana sent our coffee pot flying through the air on Interstate 74.

When we finally arrived in Noblesville, IN to visit the Southworth family. Papa Southworth took us over to his coolest job ever to get our hands on Andrew’s favorite thing – trucks!

And the newest addition to the Soutworth family, Alayna, was happy to tag along for some boy time.

To put a cherry on top of a great day, Papa Southworth took Andrew for a ride in a backhoe loader!

Tired and hungry, we went back to the Southworth house for a giant helping of grilled meats and some more play time. Oh, and we kicked some butt at Euchre, finally! Goodnight Indy!
